This little house in the trees is where Grandma Bray lived. The church across the lane was where we attended.
The newer house here is where Judy' s Dad had his Grocery store. The older house across the lane is where they lived.
This is where Sybil's Dad ran the Farmer's Coop hardware & implement business. It was combined with an elevator & feed & fertilizer outlet across the RR tracks.
I think the little Post Office has been here over 40 some yrs, but when I was there it was located further to the north.
The first home I lived in ( as a baby). Most of my life in Crestline Cousin Janet lived here. Aunt Anna lived in a small house in the yard.
Aunt Otha lived here. We lived down this lane then north and west a bit for several years.
And, of course, we lived here all the rest.
The old schoolhouse, except for the white parts, looks much as it always did. Older people called this road (Baxter to Ft. Scott), the military.
Crestline
The junction north of town had a port of entry that weighed trucks entering KS from MO. Also two roadhouses we called honkytonks. Because of arced roadways on the corners it was called the Crestline Y.

Grandma Jane's farm. The large building here wasn't there and the barn is missing.
Here you can see the site of the pond at the top. Also get a better idea of the size. They also farmed Aunt Lue's place as well as some 44+ acres not adjoining.
